Basketball Recap: Titusville Comes Up Short

Titusville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the East River Falcons 55-27. The Terriers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Falcons from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Titusville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kennedie Sanders, who posted 13 points and five steals. Sanders is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emonie Moore, who put up seven points along with six boards and four steals.

Titusville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for East River, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Titusville will square off against Cocoa Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East River, they will welcome Innovation at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. East River knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Innovation likes a good challenge.
