Softball Recap: Ithaca/Weston's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ithaca/Weston had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Riverdale Chieftains. This was a revenge game for Ithaca/Weston: when they faced off against Riverdale on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-2 loss.

Kelsea Coleman was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Olson, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ithaca/Weston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Ithaca/Weston's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Riverdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ithaca/Weston will take on De Soto at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Ithaca/Weston are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Riverdale, they will square off against Cuba City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
