Baseball Recap: Crossroads Takes a Loss

Crossroads was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Maplewood-Richmond Heights Blue Devils, falling 17-3. If the Current were looking for revenge after losing 16-1 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jack Zigler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season.

Crossroads' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Maplewood-Richmond Heights, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crossroads will square off against Gateway Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maplewood-Richmond Heights, they will challenge Bayless at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
