While Roosevelt's victory against Garden City wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cougars 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.

Roosevelt saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Hurliman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. RJ Pauley was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Roosevelt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Roosevelt now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Garden City, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Roosevelt and Garden City will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Bears will face off against rival Woodhaven at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Garden City is set to take on their familiar foe Romulus at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
