Softball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Takes Down D'arbonne Woods in a Playoff Battle

Calvary Baptist Academy extended their postseason success on Saturday against D'Arbonne Woods. They put the hurt on D'Arbonne Woods with a sharp 12-0 victory. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 24 matches by six runs or more this season.

D'Arbonne Woods' batters probably weren't too happy with Kynzee Anderson, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up two walks). Anderson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Calvary Baptist Academy got a massive performance out of Carlie Guile, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Guile has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Walker, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The win (which was Calvary Baptist Academy's sixth in a row) raised their record to 37-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for D'Arbonne Woods, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-8.

As of now, neither Calvary Baptist Academy nor D'Arbonne Woods have any future games scheduled.
