Hillsboro has gone 10-0 against Overton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Hillsboro Burros are taking a road trip to challenge the Overton Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. Overton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hillsboro, who comes in off a win.

Hillsboro is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Hunters Lane: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Hillsboro blew Hunters Lane out of the water with a 68-26 final score. With the Burros ahead 37-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Overton came up short against Cane Ridge on Tuesday and fell 60-47. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Ravens are ranked 76th).

Hillsboro will need focus on slowing down Tahj McLemore, one of several Overton players who made an impact when they last played. He posted ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of William Livingston, who had nine points.

Even though they lost, Overton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Hillsboro has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Overton, they dropped their record down to 7-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Hillsboro took their victory against Overton when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 68-44. Will Hillsboro repeat their success, or does Overton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
