Basketball Recap: Pathway Christian Comes Up Short

Pathway Christian played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 63-26 loss at the hands of the Quad Cities Christian Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Pathway Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Denver Nelson posted eight points. Nelson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played.

It was another big night for Tanner Garant, who went 9 of 11 en route to 18 points and seven steals for Quad Cities Christian. Another player making a difference was Cobie Becker-Paradiso, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 15 points.

Pathway Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6. As for Quad Cities Christian, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Pathway Christian will host Tri-State Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 21st. As for Quad Cities Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-50 loss against Faith Christian on the 14th.
