Basketball Recap: Western Skates Past Cooper City with Ease

There's no place like home for Western, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Cooper City Cowboys 51-13. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season.

Western had a senior duo take command as Maddison Manragh dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds and Tearra Mortimer posted nine points and six steals. Manragh is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Valentina Beroiz was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Western is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points per game. As for Cooper City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

As of now, neither Western nor Cooper City have any future games scheduled.
