Softball Recap: Lovington Find Success

Lovington's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Goddard Rockets. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Sabrie Sanchez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zemarie Ellis was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

Lovington's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Goddard, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-11 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lovington beat Goddard by a score of 13-11 later that day.
