Goodrich was handed a 58-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past the High Island Cardinals 32-29. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 42-25 back in December of 2024.

Goodrich pushed their record up to 10-15 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.7 points per game. As for High Island, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

It'll be a Battle of the Bugs the Goodrich Hornets face off against the Chester Yellowjackets at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Chester will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Goodrich surely won't give up without a fight. High Island has already played their next matchup (against Leggett), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
