Football Game Preview: Bothell Cougars vs. Moses Lake Mavericks + How To Watch

The Bothell Cougars will square off against the Moses Lake Mavericks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Bothell sitting on five straight wins and Moses Lake on ten.

Bothell is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Battle Ground, sneaking past 20-17.

Bothell can attribute much of their success to Mylez Welch, who gained 151 total yards, and Carlin Gochnour, who picked up 123 receiving yards and one score. Those 123 receiving yards gave Gochnour a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Moses Lake strolled past Issaquah with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 49-35. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mavericks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Eagles are ranked 60th).

Moses Lake's win came from a few key players Bothell will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brady Jay, who threw for 186 yards and five TDs, and also rushed for 35 yards. He has been hot recently, having posted five or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Elijah Burns was another key rusher, rushing for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Bothell's record now sits at 7-2. As for Moses Lake, their record is now 10-0.

Everything came up roses for Bothell against Moses Lake when the teams last played back in September of 2021, as the team secured a 56-21 victory. In that contest, the Cougars amassed a halftime lead of 35-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
