Preview: Crossland Cavaliers vs. Douglass Eagles
Crossland is 2-8 against Douglass since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Crossland Cavaliers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Douglass Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Crossland can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They took down Potomac 34-15. The victory was just what Crossland needed coming off of a 73-17 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Douglass can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Friendly with a sharp 60-38 victory. The win was just what Douglass needed coming off of a 88-45 defeat in their prior contest.
Douglass' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Courtney Smith, who scored 22 points. Mya Ford was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Crossland's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Douglass, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
