Lee-Scott Academy turns things around after tough road loss

Recap: Lee-Scott Academy Warriors vs. Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights

There's no place like home for the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 55-48 win over Macon-East Montgomery Academy on Tuesday. Given Lee-Scott Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Macon-East Montgomery Academy is ranked 319th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lee-Scott Academy found their leader in underclassman Haiden Harper, who scored 35 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Harper has scored at least a third of Lee-Scott Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Chapman Harris, who scored a point along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Johnson, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Keagan Roney, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Lee-Scott Academy pushed their record up to 19-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Lee-Scott Academy will head out on the road to face off against Springwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Springwood's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Glenwood at 7:30 p.m.
