Basketball Game Preview: Moline Maroons vs. Rock Island Rocks

The Moline Maroons will head out to face off against the Rock Island Rocks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Saturday, Moline came up short against Alleman and fell 45-38. The loss continues a trend for the Maroons in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Rock Island beat Manual 68-55 on Tuesday.

Rock Island has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Moline, they now also have a losing record at 12-13.

Moline came out on top in a nail-biter against Rock Island in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 43-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Moline since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
