Basketball Game Preview: Washington Township Senators vs. Hanover Central Wildcats

The Washington Township Senators will head out to take on the Hanover Central Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Washington Township beat Morgan Township 51-38. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Senators.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hanover Central). They enjoyed a cozy 68-51 win over Hammond Bishop Noll on Friday.

Hanover Central's win came from a few key players Washington Township will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bridget Noel, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. That's the most boards she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sienna Antkiewicz, who went 9 of 14 on her way to 19 points.

Hanover Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Washington Township has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Hanover Central, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.

Washington Township was taken down by Hanover Central 62-31 when the teams last played back in December of 2015. Can Washington Township avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
