Basketball Recap: Bixby Victorious

The third road game was the charm for Bixby, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 51-41 win over the Ponca City Wildcats on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in December of 2024, they had to take a 74-57 loss.

When it comes to explaining why Ponca City lost, don't look at Jaxon Dugosh. Despite the final result, he posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Those 12 points gave Dugosh a new career-high. Zadyn Stoll was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Bixby's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Ponca City, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

When Bixby and Ponca City next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Bixby will try to stop Union's five-game winning streak when the meet at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Ponca City will face off against Owasso and their five-game winning streak at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
