Basketball Recap: Paul Cuffee Triumphs

Paul Cuffee hadn't done well against Blackstone Valley Prep recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Paul Cuffee walked away with a 58-49 victory over the Blackstone Valley Prep PRIDE. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 55-44 back in December of 2024.

Paul Cuffee has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for Blackstone Valley Prep, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paul Cuffee will face off against North Smithfield at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in North Smithfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Blackstone Valley Prep, they will square off against Achievement First Providence at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Blackstone Valley Prep is facing Achievement First Providence at the right time seeing as Achievement First Providence is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
