Soccer Game Preview: New Kent vs. Tabb

New Kent hasn't had much luck against Tabb recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Trojans will challenge the Tigers. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New Kent is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Colonial Heights a 1-0 shutout. New Kent wouldn't have won without Diego Jimenez, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Tabb made easy work of York on Tuesday and carried off a 4-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Tabb, who have now won 11 matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Tabb is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those four contests. As for New Kent, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7-2.

New Kent suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Tabb when the teams last played back in April. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Trojans were down 4-1.
