Softball Recap: Trinity Prep Comes Up Short

Trinity Prep extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-2. They came up short against the Bishop Moore Hornets, falling 18-8. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Naomi Tanielian and Mercer Wilson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Tanielian went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Wilson went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia Agnew, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

As for Bishop Moore, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.4 runs this season.

On Bishop Moore's side, Riley Johnson and Sabrina Griffin did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Griffin went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits Johnson has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Lara, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Looking ahead, Trinity Prep will face off against Lyman at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop Moore, they will venture away from home to take on Innovation at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
