Softball Game Preview: Robert C. Byrd Eagles vs. North Marion Huskies

The Robert C. Byrd Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the North Marion Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Robert C. Byrd is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Doddridge County just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 10-3.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for North Marion's offense. They lost 8-0 to Brooke on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Bruins: they've now lost four in a row.

Robert C. Byrd now has a losing record of 12-13. As for North Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Robert C. Byrd couldn't quite get it done against North Marion when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 8-4. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
