Football Recap: River Valley Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

River Valley extended their winning streak to eight on Friday, bumping them up to 9-1. Everything went their way against the Northern Cambria Colts as they made off with a 38-14 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.

Leading River Valley to victory were Brody Hutter and Max Persichetti. Hutter gained 203 total yards and three touchdowns, while Persichetti threw for 170 yards and two TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Hutter a new career-high in rushing yards (141).

As for Northern Cambria, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 228th, while River Valley is ranked 52nd).

Although Northern Cambria took the loss, they still got scores from Daniel Farrell and Reese Wagner.

Coming up, River Valley will challenge Bellwood-Antis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Hutter and Alex McCartney. Northern Cambria does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
