Baseball Recap: Castle Rock Triumphs

Castle Rock won the last time they faced Columbia and things went their way on Thursday too. The Rockets walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Bruins. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rockets.

Tristan Honey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Honey was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other pitching news, Ira Hatch looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Stuart Teter, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those hits were his first of the season. Tucker Walling was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Castle Rock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

The win got Castle Rock back to even at 2-2. As for Columbia, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Castle Rock will challenge Kalama at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbia, they will venture away from home to challenge Chelan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
