Basketball Game Preview: Fauquier Falcons vs. James Wood Colonels

The Fauquier Falcons will head out to take on the James Wood Colonels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fauquier's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

Fauquier saw some tournament action on Saturday. They strolled past Louisa County with points to spare, taking the game 62-43. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Lions are ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, James Wood waltzed into their contest on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They wrapped up 2024 with a 49-34 win over the Indians.

James Wood now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Fauquier, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Fauquier didn't have too much breathing room in their match against James Wood when the teams last played on December 6th, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fauquier since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
