Baseball Recap: Eufaula Takes a Loss

Eufaula fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Checotah on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Ironheads of the 9-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Carson Luna was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Baylor Bohannon, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Eufaula has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Checotah, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-16.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Eufaula by a score of 13-4 later that day.
