Baseball Game Preview: Plainedge Red Devils vs. Wantagh Warriors

For the second straight game, Plainedge will face off against Wantagh. The Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Plainedge lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Wantagh, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Red Devils' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 6-0 shutout on Thursday. Fans of the Red Devils have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Taylor Nitsch was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Nitsch was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bobby Wescott was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Jaxson Torres was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Plainedge's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Wantagh, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3-1.
