Hobbs is a perfect 10-0 against Clovis since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Hobbs' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Clovis has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Hobbs and Roswell had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Coyotes on Friday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Maryna Valenzuela was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sol Rangel, who went 4-for-5 with three runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abigail Zambrano, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Hobbs hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in eight consecutive games.
Clovis couldn't beat Carlsbad on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Wildcats lost 14-4 to the Cavemen.
Hobbs' win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Clovis, their loss dropped their record down to 3-19.
Clovis' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hobbs has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Clovis, though, as they've been averaging 12 hits. Given Hobbs' sizable advantage in that area, the Wildcats will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hobbs got the 'W' in their previous meeting last Thursday against Clovis by a conclusive 14-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
