Basketball Recap: Cedar Bluff Comes Up Short

Cedar Bluff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 59-48 to the Ohatchee Indians. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Despite the loss, Cedar Bluff saw an underclassman step up: freshman Shon Gleen went 6 for 12 on his way to 15 points and three steals. The match was Gleen's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Zach Jones was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points.

It was another big night for Jake Roberson, who posted 21 points for Ohatchee. Roberson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Hester, who had 13 points.

Cedar Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Ohatchee, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Cedar Bluff wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-52 victory against Pleasant Valley on the 13th. As for Ohatchee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-38 win against Ranburne on the 13th.
