Baseball Game Preview: Cloverleaf Colts vs. Woodridge Bulldogs

The Cloverleaf Colts are taking a road trip to challenge the Woodridge Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Cloverleaf fell victim to Solon and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodridge). They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over Streetsboro on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Woodridge is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cloverleaf, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.

Cloverleaf couldn't quite get it done against Woodridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 as they fell 10-7. Can the Colts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
