Softball Game Preview: Cedar Hill Longhorns vs. Horn Jaguars

The Cedar Hill Longhorns are taking a road trip to square off against the Horn Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cedar Hill has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Horn will arrive with seven straight wins.

Cedar Hill is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Mesquite on Monday. They came up short against the Skeeters, falling 22-1.

Meanwhile, Horn owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Duncanville.

The result came thanks to Irella Bautista's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Horn's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aaliyah Ashford, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Horn's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Cedar Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.

Cedar Hill suffered a grim 20-4 defeat to Horn when the teams last played back in March. Can the Longhorns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
