Basketball Recap: University Takes a Loss

University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waco Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-36 back in January.

Waco found their leader in sophomore Shamiah Taylor, who went 11 of 18 on her way to 28 points. The dominant performance also gave Taylor a new career-high in shooting accuracy (61%). Aaziyah Degrate was another key player, putting up nine points and three blocks.

University's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Waco, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-18.

University has already played their next match, a 56-42 loss against Lake Belton on the 4th. As for Waco, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-42 win against Belton on the 4th.
