Basketball Recap: Jason Gardner Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Warsaw

Fishers is still undefeated this season after their contest against Warsaw on Saturday, but Warsaw came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Fishers Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Warsaw Tigers 54-51. The 54-point effort marked Fishers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Fishers' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Gardner, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 17 points and six assists. Gardner's morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Cooper Zachary was another key player, putting up 11 points and six assists.

Fishers' win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Warsaw, they moved to 6-1 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Fishers didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 85-80 victory against Greenfield-Central on the 28th. As for Warsaw, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-44 loss against Jeffersonville on the 28th.
