Baseball Game Preview: Mannford Pirates vs. Glenpool Warriors

For the second straight game, Mannford will face off against Glenpool. The Pirates will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Mannford has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 20.

On Monday, Mannford came up short against Glenpool and fell 5-2.

For Glenpool's part, Denim Sands was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Sands is becoming a predictor of Glenpool's success: when he posts at least ten strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't). Sands was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Judah Byrd, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Brady Terronez was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Glenpool kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mannford's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Glenpool, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-10.
