Football Recap: Park Hill South Takes a Loss

Park Hill South extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were beaten by the Blue Springs Wildcats 35-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 61-17 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Blue Springs, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Park Hill South is ranked 63rd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blue Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wyatt Erickson, who threw for 312 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Erickson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Wildcats' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Devin Staley also helped with three scores in total.

Coming up, Park Hill South will head out to face off against North Kansas City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Blue Springs, they will welcome Blue Springs South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
