Lowndes had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 37-16 margin over the Collins Hill Eagles on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Lowndes got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayce Johnson out in front who threw for 131 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 36 yards and one score. When it comes to explaining why Collins Hill lost, don't look at Atticus Joseph. Despite the final result, he picked up 140 receiving yards and one TD. Joseph was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 50 yards.
Lowndes' win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Collins Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Lowndes didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 29-17 defeat against North Gwinnett on the 21st. Collins Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
