D2 District 5 (8 Man) recap October 1, 2013

Fullerton led D2 District 5 (8 Man) in scoring this week by notching 82 points on Cedar Valley.

Giltner's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ben Hinrichs has thrown for 355 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Jared Hastings has 3 catches for 126 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Warriors and Giltner. Fullerton enters the contest ranked 13th in the state, while the Hornets ranks sixth.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Ryan Haughton's team takes on Giltner. The Warriors have allowed 106 points this season, while Jeff Ashby's team has given up 74.

Pleasanton made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 704 from 829. The improvement was largely due to a 81-36 victory over Spalding/Spalding Academy last week.
