Baseball Game Preview: Bishop McCort Crushers vs. Freedom Area Bulldogs

The Bishop McCort Crushers will square off against the Freedom Area Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Bishop McCort heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Thursday. They came up short against Mount Union, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Crushers have suffered since April 24th.

One must be Freedom Area's lucky number: they beat Our Lady of the Sacred Heart with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Bulldogs didn't even let the Chargers on the board, marking the Bulldogs' second-straight 1-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won six games in a row.

Bishop McCort's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Freedom Area, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

Bishop McCort was able to grind out a solid win over Freedom Area when the teams last played back in June of 2017, winning 4-0. Will the Crushers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
