Basketball Recap: Lucas Williams Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lawton

Cassopolis lost to Lawton back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Cassopolis Rangers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lawton Blue Devils, sneaking past 56-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rangers.

Cassopolis' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Williams, who posted 15 points and three steals. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ayden Gillam, who earned 15 points and five rebounds.

Cassopolis' victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Lawton, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Cassopolis won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lawton, they will also get right back to it: they'll face off against Galesburg-Augusta at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
