Baseball Game Preview: Mott Marauders vs. Fitzgerald Spartans

The Mott Marauders will take on the Fitzgerald Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mott managed to slip by New Haven the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Marauders lost 10-3 to the Rockets on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Fitzgerald's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hazel Park on Friday. The Spartans have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Fitzgerald saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Bush, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Bush has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Mott's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Fitzgerald, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Mott took their victory against Fitzgerald when the teams last played back in April of 2017 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Marauders repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
