Baseball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Marshall

Marshall lost to Arroyo back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Eagles came out on top against the Knights by a score of 9-6.

Michael Gerst tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Marshall got a big performance out of Adan Castro, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Castro has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ben Muro, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Marshall pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Arroyo, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6-1.

Marshall has already played their next match, a 12-0 win against El Monte on the 10th. As for Arroyo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-1 loss against South El Monte on the 11th.
