Football Recap: The Meadows School Mustangs vs. Lake Mead Christian Academy Eagles

The Meadows School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 58-30 loss at the hands of the Lake Mead Christian Academy Eagles. One positive for the Mustangs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Cameron Pereira threw for 330 yards on 20 of 48 attempts. Nicholas Mincin was his top target, picking up 97 receiving yards.

Lake Mead Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bowe Farmer out in front who picked up 271 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Farmer's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. Another passer making a difference was Colten Downing, who threw for 425 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 20.2 yards per attempt.

The Meadows School's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Meadows School will head out to take on Lincoln County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are at an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2015, but likely not for long. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Holtville at 7:00 p.m. on September 27th.
