Spruce Creek is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Seabreeze is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Hawks will host the Sandcrabs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Spruce Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Seabreeze's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
While Spruce Creek's victory against New Smyrna Beach wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Barracudas on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted against the Barracudas since March 5, 2021.
Cooper West looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Lamar Edwards was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Tyler Boyesen was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Seabreeze was able to grind out a solid win over Atlantic on Wednesday, taking the game 9-6. The Sandcrabs haven't had any issues with the Sharks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Tommy Hayes looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Caiden Smith was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Wrigley Zweifel, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Seabreeze hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atlantic struck out seven times.
Seabreeze's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Spruce Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.
Spruce Creek took their victory against Seabreeze in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sandcrabs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
