Football Game Preview: St. George's Gryphons vs. Lausanne Collegiate Lynx + Official Tickets

St. George is 0-10 against Lausanne Collegiate since September of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Gryphons will face off against the Lynx at 7:00 p.m. St. George's defense has only allowed 14.1 points per game this season, so Lausanne Collegiate's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, St. George's didn't have too much breathing room in their game against St. Benedict at Auburndale, but they still walked away with a 21-15 win.

Meanwhile, Lausanne Collegiate waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 42-7. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for the Lynx this season.

Lausanne Collegiate's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by Marterius Boyd and Lawrence Britt. Boyd rushed for 72 yards and two TDs while Britt gained 77 total yards and two touchdowns. Jawell Rodgers also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Lausanne Collegiate was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 247 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Lausanne Collegiate, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Rodgers, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Lausanne Collegiate now has a winning record of 4-3. As for St. George's, their record now sits at 6-2.

St. George's was taken down by Lausanne Collegiate 38-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Gryphons were down 35-0.
