Basketball Recap: Payton College Prep Takes a Loss

Payton College Prep lost against Trinity back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Payton College Prep Grizzlies had to suffer through a 60-32 loss at the hands of the Trinity Blazers. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Blazers are ranked 66th).

Payton College Prep has also been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season. As for Trinity, their win bumped their record up to 21-10.

Looking ahead, Payton College Prep will head out to square off against Saint Ignatius College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saint Ignatius College Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Payton College Prep likes a good challenge. As for Trinity, they will be playing at home against Schurz at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th.
