Kyla Bain spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Madyson Bierl was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Ronnye Tull was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ella Horne, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Summer Smith also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Fruitvale's loss dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Cumby, their win bumped their record up to 3-12.
