Softball Recap: Cameron Comes Up Short

Cameron lost against Hayward back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Comets came up short against the Hurricanes, falling 14-4. The Comets' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Grace Dexter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Cameron's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for Hayward, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Cameron will square off against St. Croix Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hayward, they will challenge Ashland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hurricanes are facing the Oredockers at the right time seeing as the Oredockers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
