Basketball Recap: Highland Tech's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Two

West Lincoln came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Highland Tech, but Darius Stinson Jr wouldn't allow it. The Rams put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 63-40 win on Thursday thanks in part to Stinson Jr, who posted 22 points and seven rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Highland Tech's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Coleman Schafer, who shot 45% from the field en route to 14 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaeden Steele, who earned nine points. Mason Bourquardez was another key player, putting up eight points.

The victory made it two in a row for Highland Tech and bumps their season record up to 3-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points over those games. As for West Lincoln, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Highland Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-58 loss against Stuart W. Cramer on the 19th. As for West Lincoln, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on East Gaston at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
