Basketball Recap: Prince RVT Takes a Loss

Prince RVT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Amistad Wolves. The Falcons were probably out for revenge after losing 89-63 to them when the teams met back in January of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Prince RVT lost, don't look at Jordan Iverson. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 19 en route to 27 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. That was a full 55.1% of Prince RVT's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yericziel Cruz, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 12 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Prince RVT smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Amistad's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Takki Oliver, who earned 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Eddie Edwards was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Prince RVT's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Amistad, they moved to 4-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prince RVT won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Classical Magnet at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Classical Magnet's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Amistad, they will challenge Portland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
