Palma had won three straight on the road, but on Saturday they bumped their record up to 16-5 to make it four. They put the hurt on the Carmel Padres with a sharp 9-1 victory. Considering the Chieftains have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Manny Dorantes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. In other batting news, Rocco Razzeca was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. As for Carmel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season. Surprisingly, this marked their third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
