Baseball Recap: Wagner Drops Season-High Score on Victoria East

Wagner scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 7-4 to the Victoria East Titans.

Erick Martinez put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Martinez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. He also got two hits, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Adrian Flores was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that he stole this season.

Wagner's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Victoria East, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Wagner wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Vandegrift on the 28th. Victoria East has also already played their next contest (against Boerne-Champion), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
