Basketball Recap: Colleton Prep Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Jefferson Davis Academy last Monday, Colleton Prep Academy came back down to earth. The Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hilton Head Prep Dolphins on Tuesday. The War Hawks haven't had much luck with the Dolphins recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hilton Head Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Courtney Campbell, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, nine boards, and 11 assists. Campbell is crushing it when it comes to points: she's scored at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Brooke Heins was another key player, going 6 for 14 en route to 14 points and four steals.

Colleton Prep Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 17-7. As for Hilton Head Prep, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colleton Prep Academy will host Patrick Henry Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Hilton Head Prep, they will take on St. John's Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
